Superintendent

Dr. Michael Robinson

Biography

I am excited to welcome our students and their families back to school for the 2024-2025 school year.  It is my privilege to serve the students and families in the East Pennsboro Area School District. In the following summary, I hope to provide you with an overview of my background both personally and professionally to support my role as the Superintendent.  If at any time I may be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact my office directly at 717-732-3601 to schedule a personal meeting or phone conversation.

Personal

I grew up and completed high school in Suburban Philadelphia in a single parent home with my father and younger brother.  Prior to my senior year in high school, at age 17, my father tragically passed away and both my brother and I were forced to grow up very fast.  This is when my journey as an educator began.  As you can imagine, my senior year in high school was difficult.  The supportive influence of educators, coaches, and school administrators was invaluable, and without that support, my personal story wouldn’t have turned out so well.  The opportunity to help one student or family at a time, similar to the influence that I personally experienced, motivates me each day to never take for granted the special role an educator can have in the life of a student or a family.

Athletics were always very important to me as a child and as a young adult, which ultimately had a tremendous impact on who I am as an individual.  As a result of my positive experiences with coaches and teachers along with a love for sports, I attended Millersville University to become a teacher, play football, and prepare to coach. Little did I know that Millersville would not only provide me with great educational experiences and training, but more importantly I was introduced to my future wife as a college student and to a new lifestyle in Central Pennsylvania. Now almost 30 years later, we continue to call Central Pennsylvania our home.  We have lived in Elizabethtown, raised 5 kids ages 15-25, and attended the same church without ever having the desire to move our family out of the area. Below this summary I have included a recent family photo to support my role of educational leadership for the school district.

Professional

After graduating from Millersville University with a Bachelor’s Degree in special education, I began my teaching career as an Emotional Support Teacher and Assistant Football Coach at Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg. From that point I moved to the Elizabethtown Area School District. During my tenure in Elizabethtown, I completed my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Shippensburg University and served as a Learning Support Teacher and Assistant High School Principal.  From Elizabethtown, I moved to the Cornwall-Lebanon School District, where I served for 18 years.  My start at Cornwall-Lebanon began as a Special Education Teacher and Head Football Coach then moved onto the Assistant Middle School Principal, Elementary Principal and ultimately into the role as the Director of Secondary Education. During my tenure in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District I completed a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership with Liberty University. In 2022, I accepted my first Superintendent role at East Pennsboro Area School District. I am currently entering my third year as the Superintendent and 30th year in public education.

2023-2024 Evaluation

The evaluation process was started May 16, 2024, and was completed on June 20, 2024.  The Board is proud to announce that Dr. Robinson achieved a performance level that met or exceeded our expectations.
