The State Keystone Exams begin next Monday. If you are currently enrolled in any Level of English 10, Biology, Algebra I or Algebra I Part B, or if you are in a Keystone Remediation group, you will be taking the Keystone exam associated with each of these courses.
Testing locations have been posted on the office windows in the main lobby, so please stop by at some point and find your assigned testing location for each exam you must take. Each exam is a 2 part / 2 day exam:
English will be next Monday & Tuesday (May 15-16)
Algebra I will be Wednesday & Thursday (May 17-18)
Biology will be the following week on Monday & Tuesday (May 22-23)
The Pennsylvania Department of Education requires these exams for all students in public schools, and the East Pennsboro Area School District requires our students to pass each of these exams as part of the graduation requirements. Because these are graduation requirements, students who are not successful on any of the exams will need to be scheduled to take a remediation course next year and take the Keystone exam again in order to meet the graduation requirements.
Students are NOT permitted to work on any schoolwork during the time they are testing, meaning the time after they complete their exam, but before the testing location is dismissed. Students should plan accordingly!
We are confident that you are prepared to be successful on these exams, but please get a good night's sleep each night, eat breakfast, and put forth your best effort on each exam! Best of luck!
