On June 15, 2017, the East Pennsboro Board of School Directors adopted the budget for the fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2017. School directors and administrators worked together for several months to prepare a budget that maintains high-quality educational programs and facilities, yet does not place an unreasonable burden on taxpayers. As a result of their efforts, the $40.3 million budget calls for a real estate tax mill rate of 12.1963. The median assessed home in East Pennsboro Township is $174,100, which translates to a $61.84 tax increase for the average homeowner. With the help of this millage increase, the school district budget can continue to support the district’s commitment to technology and the continued increased costs due to retirement, medical and operating costs of the district.
